The Power of Touch: My Approach to Assisting
Over a decade ago, during my yoga teacher training…something unexpected shifted everything for me.
My lead teacher was constantly offering hands-on assists during class—not in a forceful way, but with this incredible sense of presence, care, and clarity. Each time she placed her hands on me, it was like my nervous system exhaled. I felt seen. Supported. Safe.
And more than anything, I felt in my body in a way I never had before.
That experience was pivotal. It cracked something open. I realized how powerful physical support could be—not just for alignment or posture, but for healing and self-connection.
From that point forward, I knew that physically supportive teaching—using intentional touch, mindful cues, and a grounded presence—was going to be a huge part of my path. It wasn’t just about teaching yoga poses. It was about creating containers of safety where people could actually feel again.
That’s the kind of space I wanted to offer. One where people could come home to themselves, in their own time, and in their own way.
Connection is transformative. Connection, to others and to ourselves.
Return again and again… your own beautiful soul will thank you.
